AT&T Sales Rep signed me up for a promotion that was not being offered yet.

In October I called AT&T and requested pricing for a UVerse bundle. The sales rep gave me a price but said her system was not showing the correct promotion price. She confirmed the promotion price of 69.99 for U-200 and $50.00 for the Internet 300. She also confirmed that I would be charged $10.00 for the 2nd receiver and that my installation fee would be waived. She stated that my first bill would be incorrect and to ignore it because a new bill with the correct price would be sent shortly after (stated the 1st bill would show $203.00 but the new correct bill would show $134.00).  I have received my first bill and many emails showing that I did not receive the promotion that she confirmed over the phone. After 2 hours on the phone with AT&T I have now learned that the AT&T sales reps work off of commission and it appears that the sales rep that I spoke to offered a promotion that was not available yet just to get her sale. I now cannot cancel without an early cancellation fee and I have been told that no one can fix my issue. My advice- Do not go off AT&Ts word with what you are signing up for. Ask that they send you the breakdown of each service in writing or by email before you sign up.

This forum will now allow me to post links but if you go to the AT&T careers website it lists job opportunities at the call centers for Sales Representatives. It states that pay is based upon the base pay and commission.

Regardless of how they are paid, I was lied to in order to complete a sale. I confirmed the entire breakdown of what I was receiving and how much it cost by phone with the representative. My bill does not reflect what I was told and what I wrote down as I was confirming everything. I spoke to another AT&T representative and they confirmed that I was offered a promotion that was not being offered at the time. I checked online this week and what I was offered originally is currently being offered to new customers. I was signed up for a previous promotion which is why my bill reflects a higher bill than what was originally quoted to me. The sales representative stated that I would be receiving what is now being offered but gave me the old one- make sense?

Too add- AT&T has stated they can not change my bill to the correct price because I was signed up for the old promotion. No one in their building had the capability of fixing it. I am now stuck with a bill that I did not agree to or canceling the service for $325.00 (Today marks one month that I have had the service). I am hoping that someone from the powers that be within AT&T will see this and fix this. The loyalty department was very nice and was upset as well that one of their sales reps sold me a promotion that was not being offered yet.

this is a customer forum and at&t does not read the forums except for light moderation to keep it civil when discussions get out of hand. you might have better luck with this number
