Hi @Grampa2006

Try these steps

1. Check any firewall apps is installed from "Applications"? If any installed, please remove them and try McAfee update

2. Clear cache and cookies from safari (It will not remove your browsing history or saved passwords in Safari)

3. Change McAfee Firewall type to Home or Work

4. Initiate McAfee updates and check the status

If these steps don't help, you may want to reach out to McAfee to see what they suggest.

FWIW- Running McAfee on a Mac is a total waste of time and resources. I currently use a Mid-2010 MacBook Pro that I purchased back in August of '10 that is online at least 8-10 hours a day. Also, I use a Late 2014 MacMini as a Media/File Server that has been online since the day I bought it in July of '14. To this day both are virus and malware free and still run as fast as they did when I purchased them. Unless you are going to questionable websites or downloading Apps from unreliable sources, save yourself the time and headache and get rid of the McAfee. Just make sure your MacOS is running the latest version and you'll be just fine.  Plus, your Mac will run a lot faster.
